Reconstvct XVIII

Powerhouse couple of BASS, Funafuji and Dave Q did a live mix for Reconstrvct, a New York based BASS event and community.

This mix showcases BASS music at its highest, by two of the most experienced and respected veterans of BASS music in South Africa and the world. Funafuji can be without a question crowned as the Queen of BASS in Cape Town, with her versatility and vast musical taste always keeping her in demand and on the forefront of the scene. Dave Q, who has played a pivotal role in introducing and cultivating dubstep in the United States, by creating its first Dubstep night named Dub War in the mid 2000’s. He was also named the top resident DJ in New York by Red Bull.

This mix is a real sonic journey for those who are looking for something deeper, darker and more authentic. For those who really want to be taken on a BASS journey. The journey begins at the hands of Funafuji, laying it down smoothly with Maramza & Moonchild’s collaboration entitled Inkwenkwezi. Furthermore, Jungle Drum & Bass influences can be expected, as well as dub classics such as Mala’s Bury Da Bwoy,¬†and of course a tribute to the late great DJ Rashad conducted by Dave Q.

So find an open space to jam out in, or take a seat, either way, revel in this BASS musical journey.
